Itinerary

11 Days

Day 1 Overnight Flight

Departure from the United States. Individual travelers are responsible for booking their own round trip air travel arrangements. To facilitate ease of independent arrival and departure transfers, the suggested arrival airport is Naples and departure gateway is Florence.

Day 2 Sorrento

Arrive in Italy and transfer on your own to the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento. Your Encore Experiences Tour Manager will be in the hotel lobby to greet you and facilitate the check in. After some free time to relax in your room with a sea view, meet together in the lobby for a special arrival day cocktail before your first Italian culinary experience at a local restaurant for your welcome dinner...Buon appetito! Day 3 Sorrento

Today's excursion brings you by highspeed hydrofoil to Capri, the Island of Dreams. Arriving on the island, take a boat ride for a visit of the Blue Grotto to see the glowing blue waters. Next, take the funicular past sub-tropical gardens to the main piazza. After your sublime introduction to the island, enjoy free time to wander through Capri's twisting lanes and visit the tiny artisanal shops that line the main square. Return to Sorrento for time to relax and maybe have a cocktail in the hotel bar before dinner together at a local restaurant. (B,D)

Day 4 Sorrento

Enjoy a relaxing morning before gathering together early this afternoon for your hands on cooking class lesson with a local chef! Enjoy a delicious lunch that you helped prepare. This afternoon and evening are yours to explore Sorrento at your own pace and try one of the wonderful local restaurants on your own. (B,L)

Day 5 Rome

After breakfast at your hotel and hotel check out, enjoy a visit to a local lemon grove to learn about the production techniques of the most famous lemons in the world, characterized by their thick skin, rich in fragrant essential oils. Following the tour, enjoy a tasting of local lemon products and the world famous "Limoncello" liquor. Continue to Rome for check in at the beautiful Ponte Sisto Hotel located in the heart of the historical center of "The Eternal City". Your Tour Manager is available to point you in the right direction of Rome's famous shopping! Alternatively, you may want to check out the rooftop bar at the Ponte Sisto Hotel that offers amazing views of Rome. Meet again this evening in the hotel lobby to transfer to a local restaurant for a delicious Roman style dinner together. (B,D)

Day 6 Rome

After breakfast at your hotel the rest of the day is yours to explore Rome at your own pace. Once again, your Tour Manager is available to assist in booking visits and suggesting must see sites! Meet back at the hotel early this evening and transfer to a local restaurant where you will try your hand in the Italian culinary arts with a pizza making lesson and dinner. Pay close attention to the chef's presentation on how to lay out the dough for a perfect pie! Top it with the freshest ingredients in the Roman style and finish it off in the oven. You'll work in teams to assemble and cook your own authentic, brick oven Roman-style pizza. (B,D)

Day 7 Rome

After breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a second free day to explore Rome. Shop, visit one of the amazing museums, or just visit one of Baroque Rome's many cafes and sip a cocktail while people watching. Your Tour Manager is always available to assist with reservations for museums, and dinner as you explore the many wonders Rome has to offer. (B)

Day 8 Florence

After breakfast at your hotel, say arrivederci Roma and depart for the heart of Tuscany and the stunning hill town of Montepulciano, known world-wide for it's amazing wines! Enjoy a private wine tasting in Montepulciano followed by a Tuscan feast for lunch featuring local delicacies. Continue to the elegant city of Florence and check in to the centrally located Grand Hotel Cavour. You may want to visit the rooftop cafe at the hotel with stunning views of Florence's Duomo! Enjoy a free evening in Florence to sample one of the many incredible restaurants. Your Tour Manager is free to assist with reservations and great suggestions! (B,L)

Day 9 Florence

It's an earlier start this morning so you can have the unique experience of touring the San Lorenzo market with a local chef! Together with your chef-guide, buy ingredients for your cooking lesson followed by lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free to shop for Italian finery before meeting at the hotel and transferring to a local restaurant for dinner together. (B,L,D)

Day 10 Florence

After breakfast at your hotel, meet a local guide for a tour of the famous Accademia museum to see Michelangelo's masterpiece, The David. Enjoy another free afternoon to perhaps visit one of Florence's famous leather shops. Meet again this evening at the hotel before your farewell dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)

Day 11 Departure

After breakfast at the hotel and check out, transfer on your own to the airport for return flight to the United States. (B)
